The legend of the origin of the Montanera inspires the Alta Expresión Luxury Collection design for this Christmas Season
Alta Expresión presents the Luxury Collection, an exquisite selection of acorn-fed 100% Ibérico products that originate in a singular location surrounded by a sea of holm oak trees: the Dehesa of the Valle de los Pedroches in northern Córdoba, a guarantee of quality, authenticity, and exclusivity.
This unique landscape and ecosystem and the miracle of the Montanera that takes place there every year have inspired the exclusive deep green design of the Luxury Collection. The legend of the origin of the Montanera dates back to Ancient Greece, when it was said that the Goddess of Nature tended to the harmony of the green fields. One day, her daughter, the Goddess of Spring, was taken to the underworld. The tenacious mother awaited her return while seeking comfort under the leaves of her sacred holm oak tree, which shed tears of hope and prosperity, offering up its most valued fruit: the acorn.
According to the legend, that was how this blessing came to be in the Valle de Los Pedroches. Ever since, farmers and stockbreeders in this region have come together in the fields to give thanks for the fertility of the lands and the food they provide for their animals.
Seven perfect options to enjoy Alta Expresión Ibérico products
The new singular and exclusive Luxury Collection 2024 limited edition, available starting in November, consists of seven different packs of acorn-fed 100% Ibérico products.
The jewel of this collection is undoubtedly the Acorn-fed Alta Expresión 100% Ibérico P.D.O. Los Pedroches Pork Ham with production year 2020. This quintessential collection consists of just 452 pieces of between 8 and 9 kilos each that have been specially selected by the Alta Expresión master ham-makers and slowly rested for more than 50 months in their natural curing houses, with the Los Pedroches Designation of Origin certification. Each Ham bears a certificate of authenticity and a tamper-proof band which customers can use to confirm the traceability and origin of each piece. The pack also includes a bottle of Pago de Carraovejas 2020 wine, a Limited Edition for this Alta Expresión de Los Pedroches collection, and a professional ham knife with an exclusive holm oak wood handle design, for a price of €849.
This pack comes in an Alta Expresión box that includes the Legend of the Montanera in deep green, recalling the leaves of the holm oak tree. On the front, there is a gold and blue illustration of a valley illuminated by a winter moon.
One of the new additions to the limited edition this year is the Dry-cured Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico Half Pork Loin Cannister (500 g) for €59. Those who prefer to enjoy the variety of Alta Expresión Ibérico products can choose the pack consisting of five 70 g packets of hand-cut Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico Ham, hand-cut Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico Pork Shoulder, Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico Pork Loin, Acorn-fed Ibérico Chorizo, and Acorn-fed Ibérico Salami for a price of €69.
Along the same lines, we also have the pack for €119 which includes three 450 g pieces of Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico half Pork Loin, Acorn-fed Ibérico Chorizo, and Acorn-fed Ibérico Salami and the €139 pack which includes Acorn-fed 100% Ibérico half Pork Loin (450 g), Acorn-fed Ibérico Pork Underloin with paprika (350 g), and Acorn-fed Ibérico Pork Underloin without paprika (350 g).
