100% Ibérico Alta Expresión and Alta Expresión de los Pedroches acorn-fed pork hams receive the 2020 Superior Taste Award

The prestigious International Taste Institute has notified the Cooperative that for the third consecutive year its 100% Iberico Alta Expresión de Los Pedroches and Alta Expresión COVAP acorn-fed hams have won three gold stars at the 2020 Superior Taste Awards.

Like every year, the prestigious jury of chefs and sommeliers of the International Taste Institute have evaluated the flavor of the food and drinks using a blind taste test and sensory analysis of their organoleptic properties. The 100% Iberico Alta Expresión de los Pedroches COVAP acorn-fed ham has received the Crystal Taste Award, one of the two prestigious prizes recognizing products that have been rated with three gold stars for 3 consecutive years. It was one of the 35 global products to receive this honor and the only one in the Iberico acorn-fed ham category.

The flavor, texture, aroma and careful presentation of the product were the most important qualities highlighted, with a final score of over 91% from the 120 professional sommeliers and chefs from all around the world.

This award showcases the Cooperative’s traceability model and commitment to animal welfare and food safety, but also the dedication of its farmers and master ham makers to offering a quality product from the source.

Both Alta Expresión hams won this prestigious award in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
