COVAP’s Acorn-Fed 100% Ibérico Pork Ham Alta Expresión de Los Pedrocheshas, for the second year, been named the best acorn-fed 100% Iberico pork ham with the Los Pedroches Designation of Origin in the competition held as part of the 19th Los Pedroches Acorn-Fed Iberico Pork Ham Fair in Villanueva de Córdoba. The winning pork ham competed against eight other pork hams recognized with this designation of origin quality sea

This acorn-Fed 100% Ibérico Pork Ham comes from 100% Iberico pigs born and raised on the Fuente la Lastra C.B farm in Cardeña, who spend 114 days freely grazing on grasses and acorns in the Dehesa de Los Pedroches pasturelands. The unique pork ham also benefits from more than 45 months it spends curing slowly and gently in COVAP’s natural curing chambers.

This accolade is the recognition of a way of producing acorn-fed 100% Iberico pork hams in which priority is given to the excellence of a long, dedicated process by selecting the best raw material: 100% Iberico pigs reared in a unique natural area – the pastureland of Los Pedroches. Our exceptional environment is combined with the mastery, handling, and know-how of our stockbreeders, who are responsible for raising these 100% Iberico breed pigs, feeding them on natural acorns and grasses, and selecting the best animals.

The prize awarded to COVAP’s acorn-fed 100% Ibérico pork ham Alta Expresión de Los Pedroches, endorses the good work and daily efforts of our stockbreeders, professional and master ham craftsmen, who are responsible for the selection, care, production, and curing of these hams in our natural curing chambers.

This new recognition comes in addition to the three-gold-star Superior Taste Award, also achieved this year.
