A day on a sheep for meat farm

Get to know the day-to-day routine of our sheep for meat farmers. Thanks to the locals’ passion for their work and animals, our Valle de Los Pedroches is one of COVAP's best sheep meat-producing regions.

The Dehesa and the great care our farmers take of their animals mean that the sheep grow up healthy and strong, to produce the very best COVAP meat.

Good morning sun!

A new day starts on our farm and after a hearty breakfast, our farmers leave for the Dehesa. Everything is ready for the farmers to take their sheep out to graze, they can't wait!

Special care and attention

One of our farmers’ obligations, first thing in the morning, is to tend to the sheep that have given birth to lambs. They carefully check that they have everything they need and can rest and recover.

Breakfast’s up!

The sheep that have given birth are those that need to eat the most, we make sure they receive special feed to help them recover as quickly as possible and thus ensure their growth and well-being.

Our sheep

Our farmers tend to the lambs as the first few days of life are the more important for their development. Our little animals seek the warmth and affection of their mothers, which is essential to the rearing and growth of the lambs.

Care by the technical services

COVAP's technical services arrive on the farm to advise us. They carry out thorough checks relating to the reproduction, feeding, and health of our animals.

It’s time to regain strength

It's lunchtime for our farmers and some of them also take the chance to rest after a long morning no doubt full of surprises... And one or two new arrivals!

Checking our animals

On returning to the farm, our farmer visits his animals to give them the food they need, diets designed especially for them thanks to COVAP's Animal Feed factory.

Other important tasks

We don't want our farm to want for anything! That's why we visit COVAP's feed plant and Agri-store each day to buy all the food and other products we are going to need.

The sheep need food and water that lasts until the next day, so they can rest in the best conditions possible. So the farmer makes sure that the night is perfect for his animals and he can go home with peace of mind.
