A day on a dairy sheep farm

Get to know the day-to-day routine of our dairy sheep farmers. With our passion for our animals, and the effort we put into rearing and handling them, COVAP is able to produce sheep milk cheeses that are a real delicacy.

Our farmers combine milking and production processes with traditional cheese-making methods to impregnate our COVAP cheeses with the flavors and aromas of the landscape.

Wake-up time on the farm

Although they may seem the same, each day is unique on our farm! The farmer arrives on the farm to greet his sheep who are waiting for him with newborns! The day can be full of unforgettable moments that no-one wants to miss.

The first milking starts

The first milking of the day has just begun! The sheep come calmly for milking and our farmer takes great care to ensure that above all, they are relaxed during the milking, because their well-being is paramount.

It's time to replenish our energy with a good feed. Our sheep continue to rest while the farmer ensures they have everything they need - their health and well-being is of the utmost importance.

Back to the farm

On his return, the farmer proceeds to supply food to the pregnant sheep - they require special attention! Our newly-born lambs get ready to receive their first food, a very exciting moment.

Visit from COVAP

COVAP arrives to the Dehesa to collect our delicious sheep milk, which is used to make our cheeses. Fresh and natural! Thanks to the careful attention our sheep receive, their milk is simply delicious.

The second milking starts

Time to start the second milking of the day! It’s time to get more milk, and our animals remain calm and orderly while the farmer goes about his work.

A walk through the countryside

The farmer gathers up his flock for a gentle stroll around the fields. It’s a fantastic day to enjoy nature in the fresh air and admire the marvelous countryside.

Last milking of the day

After enjoying a calm, pleasant afternoon, our animals return to the farm to start the third and final milking of the day. The farmer treats all his sheep with care and patience at the same time as the night rolls in.
