Over its 65 years of history, COVAP, Cooperativa Ganadera del Valle de los Pedroches, has created a new concept in food production that goes beyond traditional agriculture and stockbreeding.
Our history
The history of COVAP starts in 1959. That's when a group of farmers decided to buy raw materials to feed and raise their livestock. Without their knowing it, the impetus of this group of men and women influenced by their land and supported by their families was the first step in creating a revolutionary project, the livestock cooperative Cooperativa Ganadera del Valle de Los Pedroches.
2000
International department
Creation of international department within the sales division.
2002
Inauguration of dairy business
Our new Dairy Business is the most modern in Europe (over 400 million liters annually).
2005
Inauguration of new Meat Processing Center
We open our new Meat Processing Center for pork, lamb, and beef, and expand our Ibérico pork operations.
2007
New combined feed factory
New combined Feed Factory, with two independent mills and a capacity of 1,500 tons/day.
2008
New chairman
Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno, elected as new chairman.
2009
50th anniversary
We celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Cooperative, with 4,000 members.
